Genuine Horn Information:

Different and distinctive, real horn is one of a kind and every piece has its own unique pattern and character. Enjoy the beauty and feel genuine horn provides. Because this is a natural organic material there are several things you need to be aware of:

A) An item will not always be exact because each hand-crafted piece is different and no two are identical. Various striations, color patterns and gradations are a normal part of horn and is to be expected. For example, different sides of the same product can be different in color or pattern.

B) Horn needs extra care by making sure you thoroughly dry the item after use. In addition, horn enjoys natural oils be applied occasionally to keep it supple and in good repair. When horn dries out of natural oils it can become brittle, thereby making for a shorter useful life.

C) Horn can micro-crack as it ages which is a natural process with this organic material and doesn't take away from its functionality. These pattern changes are part of horn's mystique and what causes sought after striations that add to the originality of each piece.

D) Horn is a bi-product. The creation of horn items is a good way to put this valuable material to beneficial use...

Why use a shaving brush: A shaving brush creates lather by using a shaving soap or cream and is warm to the skin as it raises the hair for shaving. In addition, it gently massages the face and improves skin circulation. It is kind, cleansing and mildly exfoliating yet gentle enough for sensitive skin.
